Under gateway.multiplex_profiles a served secondary profile's adapter is built and
connected inside _profile_runtime_scope while os.environ still holds the DEFAULT
profile's .env. Credentials and allowlists were already read through the profile
scope (get_scoped_secret / _platform_gate_env), but the non-credential SETTINGS the
adapters read with bare os.getenv were not, so a served profile silently ran with the
default profile's values: webhook listener host/port/URL (SMS, Teams, LINE, Feishu,
BlueBubbles), Signal's connect URL/account gate, mention gating and reactions (Slack,
Matrix, Signal, Feishu, BlueBubbles, Discord), Matrix thread/session/E2EE policy and
message-length limits, Discord backfill/command-sync/attachment caps, Buzz reply mode
and env enablement seed, A2A agent name/port/description/toolsets, and the
api_server model alias.
Every such read now goes through the existing scoped reader (get_scoped_secret, or the
adapter's own scope-aware helper): under a secondary's scope the profile's own .env is
authoritative and a miss yields the default -- never another profile's value; the
default profile and single-profile gateways keep reading os.environ exactly as before.
Buzz and A2A previously short-circuited to "extra only / built-in default" under a
scope, which also dropped the profile's OWN .env; they now read the scope so a served
profile matches its standalone gateway.
The parity harness (temp HERMES_HOME, default + 2 secondaries with distinct values for
every env var each adapter reads, real load_gateway_config + adapter factory in both
topologies) went from 70 raw process-env bypass sites across 14 adapters to only the
HERMES_<PLATFORM>_* perf knobs and the api_server listener vars, which are process-
global by design (agent.secret_scope._GLOBAL_ENV_*).
Under gateway.multiplex_profiles every secondary profile's config loads inside
_profile_runtime_scope, yet every apply_yaml_config_fn hook (feishu, matrix,
whatsapp, slack, dingtalk, discord non-gate keys, telegram non-gate keys) and
gateway/config_loader.py::bridge_core_env_settings still wrote os.environ there.
First-writer-wins: the first secondary with a require_mention / allowlist /
allow_bots / reactions block made that policy the DEFAULT profile's (live:
TELEGRAM_REQUIRE_MENTION written from a secondary load), and secondaries read
the default's env for the same keys.
- gateway/platforms/_shared.py::yaml_env_setter: the one env-write shape for
YAML->env bridges — env wins, skipped under an active secondary scope.
- Every hook now seeds its values into the profile's PlatformConfig.extra and
uses yaml_env_setter; bridge_core_env_settings seeds telegram/signal
require_mention into extra and skips the env write under scope.
- Readers that bypassed extra/scope now consult extra first (matrix flags +
session_scope, slack reactions, telegram reactions/mention_patterns/_extra_bool,
discord reactions/auto_thread/history_backfill/approval_mentions/allow_mentions,
feishu allow_bots, dingtalk mention_patterns, signal require_mention).
Salvages the shape of PR #100604 (whatsapp, earliest report #80099), #100435
(discord) and #100448 (telegram) by @nftpoetrist on top of current main.

Reverts the in-tree org skill-marketplace: hermes_wisdom package, three
model tools, CLI/gateway/desktop/dashboard/Telegram/Slack surfaces.
Later non-Wisdom work on shared files (guest onboarding i18n, dashboard
startup schema, Slack adapter, tui_gateway) is kept; Wisdom-only call
sites and config were stripped from those files.
Under gateway.multiplex_profiles, os.environ holds the DEFAULT profile's .env. Several
adapter-owned authorization gates still read GATEWAY_ALLOW_ALL_USERS, GATEWAY_ALLOWED_USERS
or their platform allowlist/allow-all raw from os.environ, so the default profile opting
into open access opened every secondary email/QQ/WhatsApp/Matrix/Teams/Slack/LINE/DingTalk
bot to any sender (email additionally skipped From: authentication), the default's Matrix
allowlist decided who may approve tool calls on a secondary bot, and a secondary that
opted in only in its own .env was silently deny-all.
Every such read now goes through the adapter's existing module-local scoped reader
(gateway.platforms._shared.get_scoped_secret / matrix _startup_env_secret): profile
scope first, scoped miss = default, never os.environ; the unscoped default-profile and
single-profile paths keep the environ read, where it IS the profile's own value.
Sites: email _allow_all_senders/_allowlist_in_effect; qqbot _open_dm_opted_in;
whatsapp_common _open_dm_opted_in/_live_dm_allow_from; teams _card_action_denied;
matrix _is_authorized_user, MATRIX_ALLOWED_USERS, MATRIX_IGNORE_USER_PATTERNS,
_extra_csv_set (allowed/free-response rooms); slack _slack_allow_bots/_slack_api_human_users;
line _truthy_env/allowlist (allow-all, user/group/room allowlists); dingtalk _extra_get
(allowed_users/chats, free-response chats, require_mention).
Live repro (temp HERMES_HOME, multiplex on, default env GATEWAY_ALLOW_ALL_USERS=true,
secondary scope without opt-in): EmailAdapter._allow_all_senders() True -> False,
QQAdapter._open_dm_opted_in() True -> False, Matrix _is_authorized_user('@stranger')
True -> False, Teams card action allowed -> denied.

- hermes_wisdom/agent_led/: policy resolution (server > local > defaults),
7-day evidence builder that excludes bundled/hub/managed skills and
dismissed/handled/recently-suggested content hashes, strict pydantic
schemas for agent output with repair-or-reject, fixed copy templates
(Share / Teammate / Published / Update / Mute), idempotent retried

* wisdom: onboarding notice says detect and share, names the user's own skill
Copy review from the product owner on the first and returning
qualification notices (fixed delivery mode):
- the feature blurb now says the org enabled detection *and sharing*
- both notices say the detected skill is one the user created
- both close with an exclamation mark
Applied identically to hermes_wisdom.notice, the desktop and web i18n
strings, and the tests that assert the sentences.
* wisdom: one opener, no approval line, ask to share after the skill is shown
Product owner review of the candidate card.
- The Hermes written card now opens with the same sentence as the fixed card
("Your organisation has enabled Collective Wisdom, a feature designed to
automatically detect and share useful skills across all team members.")
instead of its own blurb, so there is one first time message.
- "Nothing is shared without your approval." removed from Telegram, Slack
and Desktop. The buttons already make the permission explicit.
- "Would you like to share?" no longer appears before the skill is named.
It is now the last line, after the skill name, description, why suggested
and the checks, and reads "Would you like to share it?" (matching the
agent led template wording).
Tests updated for the new order; proposalNotice removed from all desktop locales.
* wisdom: American spelling, organization
Product owner decision: user facing copy uses American spelling.
Changes "Your organisation" to "Your organization" in the chat notice,
the Hermes written card opener, the desktop and web strings, and the
tests that assert them. Identifiers such as nas_organisation:* and the
German and French locales are untouched.
* wisdom: candidate card copy round 4 (owner review)
Apply the product owner's round 4 copy decisions to the Hermes Collective
Wisdom candidate card on Telegram, Slack, Desktop and the shared views:
1. Hermes-written cards are titled "Hermes Collective Wisdom" instead of
the bare "Collective Wisdom".
2. The "Reusable skill ready to review" line is gone from the candidate
card (Telegram rich card and plain fallback, legacy agent-led share
template).
3. The skill name and description are labelled: "Skill name: <name>" and
"What it does: <description>" (Telegram, Slack, Desktop).
4. "Why suggested:" is now "Why others might benefit:".
5. A passing professionalism review reads "Safe to share at work ✓ (no
inappropriate content found)" with no per-check bullets and no "Pass";
a failed review reads "Needs a look before sharing at work (possible
inappropriate content)" and lists only the checks that flagged
something. Pending/unavailable wording is unchanged.
6. Telegram button toasts: "Will ask later...", "Preparing more
details...", "Sharing...".
7. Qualification reasons: "You used this skill consistently across many
days." and "You've really refined this skill."
8. prompts/wisdom_candidate_review.md asks for a compelling
editorial_name, a simple one_line_description and a compelling
why_coworkers_benefit under 300 characters; "Be concise and
convincing." becomes "Be concise and compelling: the goal is that the
user wants to share it."
Tests updated for the new strings; review_text() gains direct coverage.
* wisdom: re-apply owner copy after rebase
- Native share cards (advice_view/interaction_view): drop the approval line, ask "Would you like to share it?" as the last line after the checks
- Hermes-written completion card titled "Hermes Collective Wisdom"
- Qualification reasons use the owner wording (consistently across many days / really refined)
- American spelling (organization) in remaining English copy
- Desktop test asserts the current Share button; web test matches the returning notice
* fix(wisdom): pin reconciled Gateway and verify Unicode hash vectors
Pin Gateway 60cd2d6b613ae3cd4a6e65155d1142006d907e78 and byte-identical producer artifacts. Verify every content-order case and package-manifest binding. Validation: 186 focused Python tests, Ruff and contract verifier.

#106167 widened the base contract to SendResult but left six native-batch
overrides (Discord, Email, Matrix, Mattermost, Slack, Telegram) returning
None, which (a) meant a media-only reply on those platforms still reported
FAILURE because _record_delivery(None) records nothing, and (b) produced new
`ty` invalid-method-override diagnostics against the widened base (#106192).
Make the contract honest instead of annotating it Optional: each override
now rolls its batches (and any per-image fallback) into one SendResult, so
the turn-outcome accounting works on every platform, not just Signal and
the base loop. The "legacy overrides return None" comment in
_send_image_batch goes away with the legacy.
ty on the 8 touched files: origin/main 241 diagnostics / 20 override,
this branch 241 / 20 — byte-identical diagnostic set; the intermediate
`-> SendResult` head without this commit had 246 / 25.
Refs #106192
Breaks the two import cycles that forced Protocol stand-ins in the F821 sweep, so the two
sites now name the real types.
gateway/platforms/event.py (new leaf): MessageType, ProcessingOutcome, MessageEvent moved
out of base.py verbatim. Their only dependency is gateway.session.SessionSource; base.py
imported helpers.py at module level, so helpers could not name MessageEvent. Now
TextBatchAggregator is typed by the real MessageEvent. 249 importers repointed
(`from gateway.platforms.base import` -> `.event`, preserving each import's layout);
gateway.platforms.__init__ re-exports from .event. The three revert-scheduled PLUGIN-COMPAT
pointers that named these symbols (gateway.slash_commands → MessageType, dingtalk → MessageType,
photon → ProcessingOutcome) and their COMPAT_MANIFEST rows now target gateway.platforms.event.
Docs updated: ADDING_A_PLATFORM.md, adding-platform-adapters.md (en + zh-Hans).
tools/mcp_tool_sampling.py: ElicitationHandler no longer holds a back-reference to its
MCPServerTask (mcp_tool imports sampling, so the task type cannot be named there). It only
ever read owner._pending_call_context, so it takes `call_context: Callable[[], Context | None]`
and MCPServerTask passes `lambda: self._pending_call_context`. The consent call is one
`functools.partial`, run directly or inside the captured Context.
ty on the 11 touched production files vs origin/main: 0 new diagnostics, 14 resolved.
(The one `source: SessionSource = None` diagnostic moves with the class; typing it Optional
exposes ~60 unguarded call sites — separate follow-up.)
Tests: tests/gateway + tests/plugins + tests/tools + touched files, 18,235 passed; the 31
failures reproduce identically on origin/main (macOS /private/tmp, systemd socket,
long-path fixtures, live-service tests).
chat.appendStream rejects a request carrying both markdown_text and
chunks with `cannot_provide_both_markdown_text_and_chunks`, so every
native task-card update failed and each turn silently downgraded to the
plain-text fallback message (#87743). The chunks are the native
rendering; the gateway caller keeps its own editable-text fallback rail
for when the native call itself fails, so the markdown_text field was
both rejected and redundant.
Fixes#87743
Cherry-picked from PR #101542 by @sohomsahaun.
Two-step drill-down: provider static_select → model static_select,
with Back/Cancel buttons. Resolves through the same gateway callback
as Discord/Telegram, so persistence and failed-switch rollback
semantics come for free.
Changes:
- send_model_picker() posts Block Kit provider/model picker via chat_postMessage
- _handle_model_picker_action() dispatches provider/model/back/cancel actions
- _model_picker_state bounded dict (cap=100, workspace-scoped keys)
- Expired-state UX: missing state rewrites message to expiry notice
- Failure header: both exception and gateway error-prefix get 'Failed' header
- Index-based option values avoid Slack's 75-char value cap
- 21 tests covering send, action dispatch, gateway integration

No runtime consumer read the proxy (terminal_tool/environments call is_interrupted()/set_interrupt()
directly); its only users were tests patching tools.interrupt._interrupt_event, which had no effect on
the code under test. tools/terminal_tool.py's own re-export of the name is owned by another worker.
For each issue anchor present in BASE 63279301bc non-test .py and absent on HEAD, the BASE comment/docstring block was re-attached at the HEAD location of the code it explained (matched by the distinctive code line / enclosing def). Sentences already covered by an existing HEAD comment were deduped; the issue number always survives. Insert-only: no code lines changed.
`SlackAdapter._is_interactive_user_authorized` (approval / slash-confirm /
clarify Block Kit clicks) and the early pre-fetch gate in the message
handler recovered the runner via `_message_handler.__self__`, which is
None on a multiplexed adapter (closure handler) — so both fell to env-only
auth. The fallback read `SLACK_ALLOW_ALL_USERS` raw from `os.environ` and
its `_env` helper fell through to `os.environ` on a scoped miss: the
DEFAULT profile's allow-all flag / allowlist authorized callers on every
other profile's bot.
- Prefer the wired `set_authorization_check` callback (profile-bound
`_make_adapter_auth_check`) at both sites; keep `__self__` introspection
only for adapters wired without one.
- Env-only fallback reads go through `authz_mixin._platform_gate_env`
(scoped miss under multiplex → "", never os.environ); drop the raw
`os.getenv("SLACK_ALLOW_ALL_USERS")` pre-read.
Reapplies #72657 onto current main (original commit carried a bot
co-author trailer). Same class as Telegram #86296 / #65589.

The two sibling is_bot computations (SessionSource construction and the
thread-history fetch) re-derived bot-ness from bot_id/subtype only, so an
api_human_users post would be human at the drop gate but still flagged
is_bot downstream. Use the single predicate everywhere.
Posts made with a user token (xoxp-) arrive with app_id and no
client_msg_id, so _event_declares_bot_sender dropped them as app traffic;
the only workaround was allow_bots: all. Adds
platforms.slack.extra.api_human_users (SLACK_API_HUMAN_USERS fallback), a
users-only allowlist consulted inside the predicate.
Salvaged from #100964 (users only: an app-id allowlist would also admit
the app's own xoxb bot posts, which share the user+app_id shape).
Every gateway/plugin platform adapter hard-coded aiohttp.ClientSession(trust_env=True)
(~20 sites), so a gateway launched by a Windows Scheduled Task that inherits a stale
HTTP_PROXY (Clash/V2Ray on 127.0.0.1:7890) looped on 'Cannot connect to host' with no
way to opt out short of NO_PROXY hacks per vendor host.
- gateway/platforms/base.py: gateway_trust_env() reads gateway.trust_env (default true);
resolve_proxy_url() skips generic HTTP(S)_PROXY/ALL_PROXY + macOS system-proxy
auto-detect when false (explicit per-platform vars still win).
- All aiohttp ClientSession sites in weixin, qqbot, matrix, line, wecom, slack, sms,
teams, google_chat now pass trust_env=gateway_trust_env(); mattermost + homeassistant
bare sessions gain the same kwarg (intent of #70119 / #56229).
- DEFAULT_CONFIG + cli-config.yaml.example + messaging docs.
- tests/gateway/test_gateway_trust_env.py: config flip + no-bare-literal sweep.

ctx.register_platform_handler(platform, factory) — the generic surface for
plugins to wire native handlers into any platform adapter at connect()
time. Factories receive (native, adapter): the platform's client/app
object (PTB Application, discord.py Bot, slack_bolt AsyncApp, Teams App,
DingTalkStreamClient, aiohttp web.Application) or None for adapters with
no separate native object.
- BasePlatformAdapter._wire_plugin_handlers(native): shared, isolated
invocation helper — a raising plugin cannot block a platform connect.
- All 27 connectable adapters call it: telegram/slack/teams/line/
api_server/msgraph_webhook wire before their dispatch tables freeze;
the rest hook at connect success.
- register_telegram_handler and get_telegram_handler_factories retained
as thin back-compat aliases over the telegram bucket.
- Source-invariant test guarantees every adapter with connect() keeps
calling the hook.
Relay-plane parity: hermes config set / Railway persist YAML booleans
as strings, and _slack_unfurl_kwargs silently dropped them — so
'unfurl_links: "false"' was a no-op on native while working on relay.
Coerce recognized string booleans exactly as _slack_unfurl_hints does;
unrecognized values still drop so junk config keeps Slack's default
instead of accidentally suppressing previews.
Replaces test_send_ignores_non_boolean_unfurl_options (which froze the
dropped-string behavior) with coercion + junk-drop tests.
The wrapper now getattr-defaults _processed_message_ts (object.__new__
adapters in sibling suites lack it), and the reaction-guard source pin
reads _handle_slack_message_impl where the production expression lives.
Follow-up for the #95417 salvage, addressing the review finding: the entry
claim closes the unfurl race but a handler that raises mid-enrichment would
hold the claim forever — neither a Slack retry nor a user edit could ever
re-drive the message. _handle_slack_message is now a thin guard around the
impl that releases only claims taken by the failed invocation itself, with a
warning log so swallowed turns are traceable. Pre-existing claims from a
successful turn are never released. Two failure-path tests pin both sides.
Slack emits `message_changed` for a link unfurl carrying a DIFFERENT event ts
than the original message. That ts legitimately misses the `_dedup` check, so
`_processed_message_ts` is the only guard against it becoming a second user
turn -- but it was only populated at the END of `_handle_slack_message`, after
thread context, permalink resolution and file downloads had all awaited.
An unfurl landing inside that window found the guard empty and was promoted to
a duplicate turn: a spurious "Interrupting current task" banner plus the same
answer posted twice.
Production capture (adminbot, 2026-08-22 02:23:30-31Z, channel C0BF1EYUA9H):
02:23:30.718 message ts=1787365409.908499 dedup_hit=False
02:23:30.737 app_mention ts=1787365409.908499 dedup_hit=True
02:23:31.675 message ts=1787365411.012100 dedup_hit=False <- leaked
subtype=message_changed
The original copy was still resolving two Slack permalinks when the unfurl
arrived 957ms later.
Claim the message ts once every filter has passed and the event is certain to
be delivered, before the slow enrichment awaits. Claiming any earlier (right
after the dedup check) also claims messages the handler then discards, which
breaks summoning the bot by editing "@bot" into a previously ignored message
(tests/gateway/test_slack.py::TestMessageRouting::
test_message_edit_with_new_mention_processed).
Eviction logic is extracted to `_remember_processed_message_ts` so both call
sites share one bounded implementation.
slack_bolt builds a fresh AsyncWebClient for every inbound request and
copies proxy=app.client.proxy into its constructor, where slack_sdk reads
a None/blank proxy *argument* as "unspecified" and reloads HTTP(S)_PROXY
from the environment. aiohttp then treats that env value as an explicit
proxy and skips its own NO_PROXY check, so the adapter's resolved decision
to go direct - a NO_PROXY bypass, or a proxy scheme aiohttp cannot use -
holds on every client except the one authorization spends on auth.test.
The failure looks like a healthy bot: Socket Mode connects, outbound sends
keep working, and every inbound event is rejected with "Failed to authorize
with the given token" - forever, since a failed auth_test_result is not
cached and never retried differently.
Re-apply the resolved proxy through AsyncApp(before_authorize=...), which
bolt inserts before the authorization middleware: the request-scoped client
already exists there and has not been used yet. Assigning the attribute
post-construction is the only way to express "no proxy" to slack_sdk.

Slack sends an authored message twice: flat in `event.text` and structurally
in `event.blocks`. The blocks are rendered so quoted and forwarded content is
not lost, and whatever the render carries beyond the flat text is appended to
the message. That comparison had several ways to fail on the *same* sentence,
each of which showed the author their own words a second time:
1. HTML entities — the flat copy escapes `&`/`<`/`>` while `blocks[].link.url`
stays raw, so any link with query parameters (every "Copy link" on a
thread) mismatched.
2. Permalink unfurls — the live inbound path skips `is_msg_unfurl`
attachments, thread/parent hydration did not, so the linked message's body
was appended again.
3. The Block Kit dump — it serialized the authored `rich_text` alongside the
UI blocks it exists for, and its allowlist drops `url`, so the sentence
reappeared with every link removed.
4. Unknown inline elements — the renderer knew eight types and silently
dropped the rest. A pasted message permalink arrives as `message_mention`,
so the link vanished from the render and the sides stopped comparing equal.
5. `message_mention` without a url — `url` is optional on that element while
`channel_id` and `message_ts` are not, so the element rendered as nothing
and the sentence came back with a blank in the link's place.
6. `date` elements — `fallback` and `url` are both optional, and the flat
`<!date^…>` form was never read down to what the rich text renders.
7. Labelled mentions — Slack may attach a label (`<@U…|name>`,
`<#C…|general>`, `<!subteam^S…|@marketing>`, `<!here|@here>`) in the flat
text while the blocks carry the bare id. The bot's own mention is one of
these, and stripping only its bare form left it in the flat copy.
8. Autolink schemes — only `https` and `mailto` were matched, so a `tel:` link
kept its angle brackets and mismatched too.
Unknown inline types are now read by their `url`/`text`/`fallback` so a type
Slack adds later still renders, and `team`, `color` and a fallback-less `date`
render into the flat form Slack sends. Every field is read as a string or
not at all: Block Kit carries text as an object in many places, and a
non-string one reaches the renderer's `str.join` and raises there, which
costs the whole message. `channel_id` and `message_ts` are the
permalink's own components, so a url-less `message_mention` renders the
permalink's tail; the workspace host and the thread query cannot be rebuilt
from the element, so a permalink on either side is reduced to that same tail.
Canonicalization is used for matching only -- the authored text still reaches
the agent verbatim, so a mistake here can cost an unrendered element, never an
altered or missing message.
An element carrying neither a url nor a label still renders as nothing, and a
message containing one is still appended twice. Suppressing such a render was
tried and is worse: an app message whose body lives only in the blocks
disappears, and a forwarded quote is dropped. Genuinely additional content --
quotes, lists, code blocks, attachments, interactive bot blocks -- is
unaffected throughout.
Tests cover both merge sites (live inbound and thread hydration) and the
negative cases.
Adapter ingress derives a session key BEFORE the runner stamps
source.profile in _make_profile_message_handler, so the namespace fell
back to the active profile and every bot in a multiplexed gateway
produced agent:main:<platform>:<chat>. A Telegram private chat reports
the user's own id as chat.id, identical for every bot, so two profiles
sharing one human collapsed onto a single lane: _pending_text_batches,
_active_sessions, the busy-session guard and _post_delivery_callbacks are
all keyed on that string. A day of production logs across two bots shows
60 flushes, none carrying the secondary profile's namespace.
set_owner_profile records credential ownership on the adapter and
_session_key_profile resolves the namespace as source.profile ->
_owner_profile -> the session store's resolver, so a secondary adapter
keys into its own namespace even before the source is stamped. Stamped
sources keep priority, so relay/connector ingress, which routes per event
rather than per credential, is unchanged. _configure_profile_adapter
installs the owner alongside the other handlers, covering startup and
reconnect.
Every candidate is type-checked as a non-blank str, and every attribute
read goes through getattr: adapters are routinely built without
BasePlatformAdapter.__init__, and a duck-typed session store returns a
truthy non-string that would otherwise be interpolated into the key as
agent:<MagicMock ...>:.
Also routes the four call sites that passed no profile at all (feishu
media batches, raft, slack _session_key_for_source, telegram photo
batches) through the same resolver.
test_multiplex_busy_input_mode's secondary-adapter busy case seeded
_active_sessions with the unstamped agent:main: key, asserting the
pre-fix collapse. It now seeds the lane the profile-owned adapter
actually derives.
A primary adapter has no owner and an unstamped source, so it resolves
exactly as before; with multiplex_profiles off the resolver returns None
and every key is byte-identical to today's.
Slack session keys include the workspace id since #70190, but the kanban
notifier rebuilds the wake source from a subscription row that has no scope
column, so every terminal-event wake keyed without the workspace.
The legacy-key adoption shipped in the same change (`_legacy_slack_session_key`,
`_recovered_row_matches_source_scope`) resolves that unscoped key onto the same
session_id, so the wake passes the busy guards that are keyed by routing key
(`_active_sessions`, `_running_agents`) and only collides afterwards, on session
id, under the per-session turn lease (#64934) — which serializes it behind the
live turn's flush. On a live Slack gateway that shows up as a duplicate run on
one task plus 400+s of waiting before the woken turn starts.
Same failure mode as #56580 / #72191 (chat_type), one field over, and it needs
no schema change: `_thread_metadata_for_source()` already stamps
`slack_team_id`, the notify subscription persists that dict as
`delivery_metadata`, and the notifier already unpacks it. Rows written by
`kanban_tools._maybe_auto_subscribe` carry no workspace, so fall back to the
adapter's channel → workspace map via `scope_id_for_chat()`, read with getattr
so adapters opt in and unscoped platforms' keys stay byte-identical. Slack
answers it from `_remember_channel_team`, which drops channels claimed by two
workspaces, so an unknown or ambiguous channel degrades to today's behavior
instead of guessing wrong.
Also adds the contributor email mapping the attribution check requires.

Adds platforms.slack.extra.native_task_cards: when enabled, live tool
calls render as Slack-native plan/task cards via chat.startStream /
chat.appendStream (task_display_mode: plan, task_update chunks) instead
of text/edit progress bubbles. ID-bearing tool_start/tool_complete
callbacks correlate concurrent same-name tool calls correctly; any
native API failure falls back to one continuously edited text update.
The stream is stopped exactly once when the turn finalizes.
Salvaged from PR #29496 onto current main (TurnRunner/TurnContext seam);
closes#29483.
Slack's Agents & AI Apps feature ships a native streaming surface that
renders a live-typing message instead of the edit-based progressive
updates the adapter used until now.
The adapter now implements the existing draft-streaming interface:
- supports_draft_streaming() opts in whenever the app is connected and
native streaming hasn't been detected as unavailable.
- send_draft() starts a stream on the first frame (chat.startStream,
anchored to the resolved thread_ts, with recipient_team_id/user_id
for channel streams) and appends only the delta on subsequent frames
(chat.appendStream is append-only). The consumer's trailing cursor
glyph is stripped before delta computation.
- Unlike Telegram drafts (ephemeral, replaced by a real sendMessage),
a Slack stream IS the final message. send() therefore intercepts the
turn-final delivery for a chat with an active stream whose streamed
text is a prefix of the final content, and seals it via
chat.stopStream with the remaining delta instead of posting a
duplicate. Rich Block Kit (when enabled) is applied to the sealed
message via chat_update, mirroring the finalize path in edit_message.
- Feature-gate errors from chat.startStream (not_allowed,
missing_scope, unknown_method, ...) are cached on the adapter so
subsequent runs skip straight to edit-based streaming with a single
warning naming the fix (enable Agents & AI Apps for the app);
transient errors only disable drafts for the current run via the
consumer's existing send_draft failure handling.
- Segment breaks (new draft_id) and disconnect() seal any open stream
so chats are never left with a dangling live-typing indicator.
No consumer or config changes: streaming.transport auto/draft now
lights up native streaming on Slack through the same interface
Telegram drafts use, and the edit-based path remains the fallback.
Slack Web API calls return `SlackResponse`/`AsyncSlackResponse`, which are
mapping-like but not `dict` subclasses, so every `isinstance(resp, dict)`
gate took its "unexpected shape" branch at runtime: user and channel names
collapsed to raw IDs, every user resolved as a non-bot (defeating the
allow_bots loop guard), ephemeral replies were reported as failures, and
uploads/caption fallbacks lost their message_id.
Normalize responses through a single `_slack_response_payload()` helper
(dict passes through, SDK response yields `.data`, anything else yields
`{}` so callers keep their fallbacks) and use it at every call site.
Existing Slack tests injected plain dicts, which is why the defect was
invisible; the new tests run each behavioral case against a real
`AsyncSlackResponse` as well.
_humanize_user_mentions rewrites <@UID> to @DisplayName by passing the
resolved name as re.sub's replacement, where re parses it as a template.
A display name is arbitrary user-set text, so the escapes in it are the
user's characters, not regex syntax:
dev\ops -> re.error: bad escape \o
a\1b -> re.error: invalid group reference 1
\g<0> -> expands to the whole match, silently putting the opaque
<@UID> back — the token this method exists to remove
The trigger-text call site sits in _handle_slack_message outside any try,
and both Bolt event handlers await it bare, so the raise takes the whole
inbound message down: every message mentioning that person is dropped.
Pass the replacement as a function instead — re does no template parsing
on the return value, so the name lands verbatim. Same shape the Matrix
adapter already uses for its outbound mention rewrite.
PlatformEntry.check_fn served three contradictory roles: adapter-creation
gate, config auto-enablement gate, and status display. Plugins had to pick
one function for all three:
- Active installer as check_fn (discord/slack/telegram/matrix/dingtalk/
feishu): every status display could pip-install SDKs as a side effect
(the desktop 94% boot-loop class).
- Passive probe as check_fn (teams, wecom_callback): create_adapter()
returned None before connect() could lazy-install, so the SDK never
installed (#79812 deadlock; wecom_callback's platform.wecom_callback
LAZY_DEPS entry was dead code).
The split makes both call sites correct by construction:
- check_fn is now contractually PASSIVE (probe only, never installs).
- New optional PlatformEntry.ensure_deps_fn is the ACTIVE installer;
create_adapter() runs it exactly when check_fn is False — the platform
is enabled+configured and the gateway is about to connect it.
- Config enablement keeps a configured platform whose deps are missing
but installable; the install itself is deferred to create_adapter().
- Status surfaces (_platform_status, hermes status) read only the
passive probe and can never trigger pip.
Migrated all lazy-installable platform plugins to the split; platforms
with no optional deps (irc/ntfy/buzz/simplex/line/a2a/...) are unchanged
— no ensure_deps_fn means a False check_fn stays a hard block.
wecom_callback gains a working installer for the first time.
Builds on @xxxigm's #79812 (both commits cherry-picked with authorship
preserved), reworking the check_fn swap into the two-field split so the
Teams fix doesn't reintroduce install-on-status.
- discord/telegram/slack/matrix standalone senders read bot tokens via
get_secret (in-turn: they run inside an installed scope — cron scheduler
and delegate spawns propagate it), never borrowing another profile's
env-bridged token under multiplex.
- telegram webhook-secret and matrix access-token/password startup reads
use the Slack pattern (#59739): get_secret, falling back to os.environ
only on UnscopedSecretError.
Follow-up to PR #70238. Remove 'free-response channel' and
'authorization' jargon from the model-facing prompt. Collapse the
triple-negative 'do not ask / do not reject / do not stay silent'
into a single directive. ~70 tokens vs ~175 in the contributor's
version, same semantics.
Two related Slack delivery fixes for send_message text sends:
- Route Slack text delivery through _send_via_adapter so the live
in-process gateway adapter (multi-workspace aware, channel→client
mapping, adapter-side gates) is preferred, with the plugin's
_standalone_send as the out-of-process fallback — matching how the
media path already behaves.
- _standalone_send: SLACK_BOT_TOKEN can be a comma-separated list in
multi-workspace installs and slack_tokens.json carries OAuth
per-workspace tokens; the standalone Web-API path used to send the
literal comma-joined string, which Slack rejects as invalid_auth.
Try each token individually, retrying on token-scoped errors
(invalid_auth / not_in_channel / channel_not_found …) and stopping on
terminal ones. User-DM resolution (U…/W… targets) also tries each
token.
Adapted from #47547 by @replygirl — the original patched the legacy
tools/send_message_tool.py::_send_slack helper, which moved to the
Slack plugin's _standalone_send in #41112.
