A background delegate_task call used to be ONE async unit: the runner joined on
every child and a single consolidated message re-entered the conversation when
the SLOWEST finished. Fifteen independent PR reviews therefore waited on the
fifteenth before the parent could act on the first.
Each task now carries an optional `group`. `_units_of` partitions the call's
children into units — one per distinct group, one per ungrouped task — and each
unit is dispatched to the async registry on its own, so its results re-enter the
conversation as soon as THAT unit is done. Tasks that must be compared or merged
share a group and still return together.
Capacity is unchanged: every unit of one call joins the first unit's pool slot
(`slot_key` in `async_delegation._dispatch`), so splitting never consumes more of
`delegation.max_concurrent_children` than the call did. Unit ids suffix the
call's id (`deleg_xxxx-1`, `-2`, …) so live transcripts stay under one dir; the
completion block names the group and notes that sibling units report separately;
`active_task_count` counts a unit's own tasks.
Portal decides routing centrally per model and returns HTTP 400 on any
caller-supplied `provider` object (live-confirmed). Drop the five "OpenRouter or
Nous Portal" claims from the provider-routing page and say plainly that the
setting is ignored on Portal now that the profile no longer forwards it.
`provider_routing.models.<model-id>` now takes the same only/ignore/order/sort/
require_parameters/data_collection keys and overlays the flat provider_routing
values whenever the agent is on that model. Resolution lives in the one
chokepoint every request path already uses (_provider_preferences_for_agent),
so CLI, gateway, TUI/Desktop, cron, /model switches, fallback activation and
delegated children on another model all honour it with no per-surface plumbing.
Matching is spelling-tolerant, sharing _canonical_model_variants with
agent.reasoning_overrides.
The OpenRouter profile's speed-tier pin no longer overwrites an explicit user
`only` on the BASE gpt-6-astra slug: the pin exists to keep default routing off
flex/fast, and a user pin is the stronger intent (only: [openai] stays [openai]
instead of becoming [openai, azure, azure/us]). Tier slugs (-fast/-flex) keep
owning `only`.
Live A/B (config only: {gpt-6-astra: [openai], claude-fable-5.1: [anthropic]}):
main sent {"sort":"price"} for fable and OpenRouter served it from Azure; with
this change it sends {"only":["anthropic"],"sort":"price"} and Anthropic serves it.
Schema proposed in #24495 (samplesabotage) and #100711 (Artemonim); this is a
slim chokepoint implementation of that design.

Symptom: with Browser Use mode (the default) and no cloud provider / CDP
override, browser_exec left BU_CDP_* unset, so the browser-use harness ran
its own local discovery — hunting for the user's INSTALLED Chrome on its
default profile. That path needs the chrome://inspect remote-debugging
toggle plus an "Allow remote debugging?" popup per run, is blocked outright
on Chrome >=136, and on a headless host (or one without Chrome) fails with
"chrome-not-running: no supported Chromium-family browser is running". The
built-in browser_* tools never had this problem: they drive the Chromium
Hermes installs, launched through agent-browser.
Change: `_resolve_backend_cdp` step 4 becomes the local ENGINE —
lightpanda when configured, otherwise `_resolve_managed_chromium_cdp`,
which runs `agent-browser --session <key> get cdp-url` through the legacy
`_run_browser_command` (Chromium preflight/auto-install, per-key session
cache, inactivity reaper, atexit) and exports the returned ws:// endpoint
as BU_CDP_WS. Each cache key (task, or bu-named-<session>) gets its own
Chromium, so named sessions are private and skip the own-tab preamble.
Running `get cdp-url` on every call also refreshes agent-browser's idle
timer (it never sees the harness's direct CDP traffic) and follows a
relaunch after the reaper closed the browser.
Live: before, browser_exec on origin/main → exit 1 "chrome-not-running";
after → new_tab/page_info succeed on a cold start, warm reuse, post-reap
relaunch, and a named session; a missing Chromium surfaces the install
hint instead of the harness's Chrome hunt.
The skill review fork, the combined memory+skill review, and the curator's
consolidation pass all described references/ as the place for
"session-specific detail", and the curator's demote step said to move a
sibling's file under the umbrella. Followed literally over months that
produced one dev skill with a 100k SKILL.md dense in PR numbers and 443
one-per-session reference files, plus five sibling skills restating the
same rules and the repo's AGENTS.md.
The three prompts now share one shape contract: an entry is an imperative
rule plus one clause of why, stated once; no PR/issue numbers, dates, or
quoted chat as content; references/ is a small topical set extended in
place, never a per-session file; skills do not restate always-loaded
context. Consolidation is defined as distilling, and copying a sibling
verbatim under references/ is named as the failure. skill_manage's schema
carries the one-sentence version.
Two advisory linter rules make the shape visible in the tool result the
moment it starts to drift: incident-log-shape (PR/issue-number density in
prose) and references-sprawl (>60 reference files), the latter also run
on references/ writes. On the real before/after: the old skill trips both,
the consolidated one trips neither.
Adds plugins/web/perplexity — a keyed-only WebSearchProvider over httpx:
- search: POST https://api.perplexity.ai/search (documented Search API),
search_context_size=low so `snippet` stays description-sized;
results[].snippet -> description, max_results capped at the API's 20.
- extract: POST /sdk/content/snippets — the query-relevant page-excerpt
route behind `pplx content snippets` (the CLI's `content fetch` is
deprecated upstream). web_extract has no query, so the URLs' path words
serve as the relevance query; per-URL `error` entries survive a 200.
- Wired into the same touchpoints as the other keyed vendors: legacy
backend set + credential ladder + availability probe (web_tools),
registry preference walk, OPTIONAL_ENV_VARS, `hermes config`/status/
dump key lists, nous_subscription direct-credential detection, setup
summary, test conftests, docs.
Not a keyless-ring member (Perplexity has no anonymous tier). Related
closed PRs #9192 / #23981 / #45225 predate the plugin ABC.
Multi-root servers (pyright) are keyed by server_id; a file whose resolved
root is new for a running client is attached with
workspace/didChangeWorkspaceFolders instead of spawning another server.
Single-root servers keep the (server_id, workspace_root) key and behavior.
A profiled fan-out across ~30 worktrees ran 30-60 pyright processes
(~8.7 GB); the same fan-out now runs one.
Salvage follow-up for PR #100269. The flag landed upstream in 0.3.x;
binaries before it (e.g. 0.2.8, verified locally) fatally reject the
flag with 'unknown argument', breaking every Browser Use launch.
Probe 'lightpanda help' once per process and omit the flag when the
binary predates it. Also soften the unverified concurrency claim in
the _http_cache_dir docstring and tell docs readers to stop sessions
before deleting the live sqlite cache.
Lightpanda's HTTP cache is opt-in (`--http-cache-dir`, off by default), and
the launcher never passed it, so every Browser Use navigation re-fetched
every asset.
Point all Hermes-spawned instances at one shared cache under
$HERMES_HOME/cache/browser-use/lightpanda/http-cache. Sharing it across
sessions keeps assets warm through session churn; Lightpanda stores it in
sqlite (WAL), so a write that loses a race degrades to a cache miss rather
than a failed load, and --http-cache-entry-limit (default 1000) bounds the
directory without Hermes managing eviction.
Measured over 25 navigations across 5 sites, median warm navigation drops
from 0.40s to 0.18s on news.ycombinator.com and 0.14s to 0.10s on
wikipedia; total navigation time 7.0s -> 5.9s.
The flag has existed since Lightpanda 0.3.x (April 2026), so this needs no
minimum-version bump.
Expose the read deadline as a top-level config.yaml key beside
context_file_max_chars (same load_config_readonly resolution shape), default
5s, documented in context-files.md. Narrow the reader thread's catch from
BaseException to Exception: control-flow exceptions can't originate inside
read_text on a worker thread, and re-raising one would bypass the sites'
except Exception / except (OSError, UnicodeDecodeError) handlers.
N processes sharing one Nous OAuth pool entry hit the hourly expiry
together; each force-refreshed, each rotation invalidated the token a
sibling had just adopted, and processes that lost the auth-store flock
race had their only entry benched ("matched no nous entry ... pool size
0") — ~120 sessions surfaced 401 'out of funds' on Sep 2 2026.
- resolve_nous_runtime_credentials(stale_access_token=): under the store
lock, skip the refresh POST when the on-disk token differs from the one
that failed and is usable (a peer already rotated) — adopt instead.
- credential_pool nous path: adopt a peer-rotated key after the pre-sync,
pass the failed bearer through, and treat a lock TimeoutError as
'retry later', never as an exhausted credential.
- Live 120-process stampede harness: 41 refreshes/9 unrecovered -> 1
refresh/0 unrecovered.
Policy: availability-gated tools (check_fn probes — Docker, HASS_TOKEN,
OAuth…) are frozen for the life of a session. tools[] only changes on
/new, /reload-mcp, or compaction. Two doors remained after #100638:
* Gateway agent-cache eviction (LRU/idle sweep/cross-process invalidation)
rebuilds a fresh AIAgent for the SAME session and agent_init re-derives
agent.tools from live probes with no predecessor to preserve. Persist
the session's resolved tool-name order in a new `sessions.tool_names`
JSON column (declarative reconciliation, SCHEMA_VERSION 28), written
alongside the system prompt and re-pinned on every published refresh
(so /reload-mcp and compaction naturally reset it; /new mints a new
row). On restore-for-existing-session the fresh definitions are folded
onto the saved order via the SAME `_merge_preserving_prefix` helper —
a probe-flipped tool is carried forward from the registry schema, a
deregistered one dropped, new tools appended at the tail.
* /reload-mcp (CLI, gateway, TUI RPC) now also calls
`reprobe_tool_availability()` — drops the check_fn verdict cache and the
get_tool_definitions memo — so a user can consciously pick up a
credential/daemon that appeared mid-session. Docs updated.
Under a multiplexed gateway every profile's outbound webhooks share one
delivery worker, so receivers could not tell which profile fired an
event. Add a top-level `profile` field to the payload, resolved at fire
time from the bound Hermes home via get_active_profile_name() ("default"
outside profiles). Documents the field in the wire-format section.

Fixes#92674
Port the run-ownership invariants from PR #93747 onto main's `_run_owners`
model in gateway/platforms/api_server_runs.py:
- `_request_owns_run` no longer admits run state that exists without an
owner stamp. Under gateway.multiplex_profiles every served profile holds
a valid key, so the "backward compatibility" branch made the boundary
allow-all whenever provenance was missing. Unstamped state now fails
closed; only an in-memory owner match or a durable idempotency record
under the caller's own scope admits a run.
- POST /api/sessions/{id}/chat/stream claims `_run_owners` at the run mint,
inside the request's profile scope, so its run is confined to the
creating profile like /v1/runs.
- Owner release is tied to "no run-keyed state survives"
(`_release_run_owner_if_forgotten`) and runs at every retirement point
(task finally, SSE stream close, both sweep loops, chat-stream finally),
not only the terminal-status sweep — no stranded entries, no stateful id
ever left unowned.
Docs: note that runs are per-profile scoped (replaces the now-false
visibility admonition proposed in PR #92822).

Extends the TTS lease from #100912 (4e3feb8bbb) beyond built-in local
engines: when the configured tts.provider is user-declared, acquiring
the first lease and releasing the last one now reach it, so a
self-hosted TTS server can preload its model when read-aloud / voice
conversation turns on and unload when it turns off (Discord request).
- agent/tts_provider.py: TTSProvider gains concrete no-op warm() /
release() (not abstract — existing plugins are unaffected).
- tools/tts_tool.py: _signal_user_tts_provider() forwards the lease
hook; plugin providers get warm()/release(), command providers run
optional `warm_command` / `release_command` (config.yaml, under
tts.providers.<name>) through the existing _run_command_tts helper
on a daemon thread — best-effort, output discarded, failures at
debug. warm_tts_provider() and release_tts_provider() call it.
- tests/tools/test_tts_lifecycle_leases.py: fake plugin provider and
fake command provider observe warm/release through acquire/release
lease (both fail on main with action == "noop").
- docs: features/tts.md — lease section, command-provider optional
keys table, plugin optional hooks.
purge_stale_done_notify_subs only matched status='done', so a task the
circuit breaker parked in 'blocked' kept its notify-sub rows forever on
boards that never archive. Widen the predicate to done OR blocked while
keeping the existing age clause; backlog/ready cards are idle, not
abandoned, and stay exempt (test_gc_spares_reopened_task_even_when_old).
Watcher comment/log and docs updated to say done/blocked.
Closes#100955
Co-authored-by: itsflownium <itsflownium@users.noreply.github.com>
The goal judge now returns 'blocked' for unachievable goals, but the
/loop --until gate only checked == 'done', so an impossible stop
condition would re-fire every tick until loops.max_ticks. Pause the
loop with the judge's reason instead. Also collapse the kanban gate
callers' 'gate_verdict == "continue" or rejection is not None' to
'rejection is not None' (rejection is None iff verdict == done), drop
the duplicate blocked-verdict goal test, and document the verdict.
Concurrent or nested delegation batches (a parent's 9-way fan-out plus a
child's own 3-way fan-out) printed interleaved `✓ [3/3]` / `✓ [3/9]` lines
with nothing identifying which batch each belongs to.
- CLI: batch header `🔀 [6a66] delegating 9 tasks`; completion lines and
child tree-view lines become `[6a66 3/9]`; spinner remaining-count tagged.
- Relay: `delegation_id` rides on every `subagent.*` event (TUI gateway
payload, api_server SSE subagent.start/complete).
- TUI: `[6a66 3/9]` prefix on /agents rows; Desktop Agents pane groups
workers by exact delegation_id (heuristic shape/time grouping kept for
older backends) and shows the tag on the group header.
- Tag = last 4 hex of the deleg_xxxxxxxx id (format_batch_tag), same id
returned by the dispatch and used for cache/delegation/live/<id>/.
De-risking for the notify=True UX change: the marker is now driven by
cron.delivery.notify (config.yaml, default true = current behaviour), read
once per delivery and applied to both the text and media routes; a missing or
malformed section keeps the default.
An evidence-free live-adapter ack (bare SendResult(success=True) from
Slack/Matrix/Mattermost) is still accepted, but the target is recorded on the
job as last_delivery_unverified (cleared by the next evidenced delivery) so
the state shows up in 'hermes cron list' (⚠ Delivery UNVERIFIED), 'hermes cron
doctor', and the cronjob tool listing — not only in a WARNING log line.
Live repro (real _deliver_result + real 'hermes cron list' against a temp
HERMES_HOME, Slack target, SendResult(success=True)): before — list showed
nothing beyond the Deliver line and route metadata always carried
notify=true; after — list prints the UNVERIFIED line, and
cron.delivery.notify: false yields notify=false in the route metadata.
A manual cronjob(action='run') derived success from last_status == 'ok'
and read the error from last_error — so a run that now records
delivery_failed came back as success=False with error=None, an unexplained
failure. Surface last_delivery_error as the error in that case (the
#84006 direction, re-applied on the delivery_failed status), and pin the
manual-run completion summary to say 'Result: FAILED' over an undelivered
run. Document the status in the cron user guide.

The generic tool_call(name, arguments: object) bridge hides a deferred tool's
real parameter schema from provider-native validation. Before this, only
top-level required-key absence was checked, so invalid enums, wrong types,
nested required fields and forbidden extra properties reached the handler
or MCP server. Now the call is coerced (same coerce_tool_args path normal
dispatch uses) and validated with the schema's declared JSON Schema draft;
failures return the path, constraint and parameters schema so the model
repairs the call in one round-trip. Fails open on missing/malformed schemas,
external $ref, or missing jsonschema.

Adds a bundled image-generation backend for the Meta Model API
(https://api.meta.ai/v1), which is OpenAI-compatible. Exposes the
muse-image-1.0 model via the standard image_generate tool. This is the
image-gen companion to the already-bundled meta-ai chat provider
(plugins/model-providers/meta-ai, PR #88565).
- plugins/image_gen/meta-ai/ — provider registered as `meta-ai`, matching
the chat provider's id. Reuses the openai SDK pointed at Meta's base URL.
- Auth mirrors the chat provider: MODEL_API_KEY (Meta's documented var),
with META_API_KEY / META_MODEL_API_KEY aliases and a META_BASE_URL
override.
- Text-to-image only for now (capabilities gated); base64 (WebP) and URL
responses both handled and saved under $HERMES_HOME/cache/images/.
- Auto-loads as `kind: backend` and appears in `hermes tools` with no
central list edits, matching the other bundled providers.
- tests/plugins/image_gen/test_meta_ai_provider.py — 27 tests (metadata,
auth-alias resolution, base-url override, model resolution, generate
paths incl. b64 save, aspect mapping, URL caching, error handling).
- docs: image-generation feature page + provider-plugin built-in list.
Desktop "Read replies aloud" / voice conversation, TUI and CLI /voice tts
now hold a lease on the TTS engine. Acquiring pre-loads the configured
provider (piper/kittentts model into the same LRU slot synthesis reads;
lazily-installed cloud SDKs), so the first spoken reply no longer pays the
model load as dead air. Releasing the last lease across surfaces unloads
resident local models.
- tools/tts_tool.py: warm_tts_provider / release_tts_provider /
acquire_tts_lease / release_tts_lease over a _LOCAL_TTS_MODEL_CACHES
registry; piper/kittentts loaders extracted so warm-up and synthesis
share one resolution path.
- web_server: POST /api/audio/tts-lease (profile-scoped, off-loop,
failures reported in body never as HTTP errors).
- tui_gateway voice.toggle + cli.py /voice tts|on|off wire the lease.
- desktop: lib/tts-lease.ts (dedupe, per-lease serialization, latest
intent wins) driven from useComposerVoice; setTtsLease API client.
- docs: features/tts.md section.
Live (real piper, isolated HERMES_HOME): first synthesis 988ms cold →
92ms after the toggle warmed the engine; release drops the model.
Run models locally as a first-class provider. The CLI grows a managed
llama.cpp runtime (engine install, model download, server supervision);
the desktop app grows the full setup and management story on top of it.
GUI surfaces ship behind the desktop --local launch flag (hermes desktop
--local, or the flag on the packaged app); backend routes and the CLI
are always live.
Runtime (hermes_cli/local_runtime/):
- curated GGUF catalog with per-machine variant selection: hardware
probe (VRAM/RAM/UMA), fit planning with spill accounting, quant choice
by context window
- derived recommendation: quality-ranked picks gated by a predicted
decode-speed floor, bandwidth-aware on unified memory; the decision
table is pinned as a test (pick AND reason per memory class), and the
Recommended badge explains its pick in a tooltip fed by the resolver's
actual branch
- engine install + model download with resumable split parts, cumulative
plan-level progress, and staged-model integrity (a split GGUF counts
only when every part is present)
- server supervision: spawn/adopt/stop, router mode with per-model load
progress relayed over SSE, abandoned-request cleanup
Desktop:
- Settings -> Providers -> Local models: one-click quickstart (install
engine, download the recommended model, boot) plus per-model download/
activate/eject, fit-ranked catalog with context pills
- model pickers (composer dropdown + Cmd+K) show staged local models,
in-flight downloads as live progress rows, and load-into-memory bars
- local-setup campaign tip for eligible hardware; System resources
statusbar widget (GPU/VRAM/RAM); in-chat load progress during sends
- friendly dead-server errors, and failed agent builds retry on the next
send instead of wedging the session
Co-developed with NVIDIA field feedback on RTX 5090 and DGX Spark.
The skill_manage tool schema description, prompt-builder docs, and the
skills docs page now derive the creation path from skills.create_dir
(display_skill_create_dir()) instead of hardcoding ~/.hermes/skills/ —
so pointing the config at e.g. /opt/brain/skills changes what the agent
is told everywhere, with no SOUL.md fights or read-only chmod tricks.
Adds config default + docs section + 16 tests (incl. a read-only
profile-skills-dir scenario).
Widens the salvaged cron doctor with the highest-value fleet check:
an active job whose next_run_at is parked >15min in the past is not
firing (dead ticker, downed gateway, wedged fire-claim). Also registers
doctor in the docs (cron guide + CLI reference) and resolves the salvage
onto current main alongside runs/incidents/notepad.
Remove the implicit hermes peer and the peer question from new connection setup. Preserve explicit peer settings and keep memory paths consistent with the captured client identity.
Add setup, configuration, request, recall, and session regression tests, plus upgrade guidance.
- Tavily plugin deleted (plugins/web/tavily), keyless endpoints and
ring entry removed from keyless_mcp, legacy backend set / credential
ladder / preference walks / rescue key map scrubbed.
- TAVILY_API_KEY deregistered across config, setup, status, dump, and
nous_subscription surfaces. The tvly- redaction pattern stays --
legacy keys in user envs still deserve masking.
- Sibling test pins migrated (keenable/exa stand in where tavily was
the fixture vendor); tavily test suite deleted.
- Docs updated: web-search, configuration, integrations,
environment-variables, tools-reference, web-dashboard, provider
plugin dev guide.
Live-verified from an isolated HERMES_HOME with all web creds blanked:
zero-config resolution lands in the 4-vendor ring, live keyless ring
search succeeds, no tavily anywhere in resolution order.
A delegate_task child that died (provider 404/400, timeout, crash)
previously vanished silently: the child's conversation loop returns
failed=True with the error summary in final_response, which the
classifier treated as usable output -> status 'completed'. And even
correctly-failed children only reached the parent MODEL — platforms
with tool_progress off (Telegram/Slack defaults) never showed the
human anything.
- delegate_tool: result.failed now forces status 'failed' (with the
error carried on the entry); new shared format_subagent_failure_line()
renders one clean human-readable line (traceback -> exception message,
length-capped); CLI tree + batch ✗ lines now include the reason.
- gateway TurnRunner.progress_callback: subagent.complete events with a
terminal failure status deliver that line via _deliver_platform_notice
BEFORE all progress-queue gates; tool_progress_callback is now always
attached (body gates each event class itself).
- tests: failed-flag classification regression + notice rendering suite.
- docs: Failure Visibility section in delegation docs.
Bundled by #83063 into the always-shipped set, but it serves only
multi-agent kanban campaigns — too niche for every install's skills
index (~20 tok/call for all users). Moved to the optional catalog
(installable via /skills search + hub, official source) and renamed so
the trigger is legible at a glance: 'merge-reconciler' read like a
generic git helper; 'agent-merge-conflict-arbiter' says who it is for.
- skills/autonomous-ai-agents/merge-reconciler -> optional-skills/autonomous-ai-agents/agent-merge-conflict-arbiter
- frontmatter name + description updated (description within the 60-char hardline its own contract test enforces)
- contract test moved/renamed, 9/9 green
- kanban docs (en + zh-Hans) repointed; zero merge-reconciler refs remain
Real-profile browsing (browser.use_real_profile) is meant to drive a COPY of
the user's profile headlessly in the background so they can keep working while
the agent acts on their behalf. Instead, on any host with a display it launched
the user's real browser binary HEADED, popping a window that grabbed focus on
every turn.
Root cause: the native launch (which bypasses agent-browser's own launcher to
avoid --use-mock-keychain dropping keychain-encrypted cookies) only added
--headless=new when Linux had no DISPLAY/WAYLAND_DISPLAY. On a normal desktop
the guard was false, so Chrome opened a visible window.
Fix: launch headless by default on every platform. Chrome's NEW headless mode
shares the profile's normal cookie store (unlike legacy --headless), and the
cookie drop we guard against comes from --use-mock-keychain, not from headless
— so real-profile auth still loads. Users who want to watch can opt in via the
existing browser.headed / AGENT_BROWSER_HEADED toggle (honored for real-profile
now, same as the rest of the browser stack); display-less hosts stay headless
regardless so the launch doesn't die at startup.
Live A/B on a real X seat: old argv mapped a Chrome window (focus steal),
--headless=new mapped zero windows while still exposing a working CDP port.
Updated the stale test that pinned 'never passes --headless' (a legacy-headless
premise) to positively assert the chrome launch is --headless=new by default.
The gateway's session-backed MCP OAuth flow (mcp.servers.oauth.start) binds
its browser-callback listener on the BACKEND machine's 127.0.0.1. When the
Desktop app connects to a remote backend (SSH/Tailscale), the user's browser
resolves that loopback to the user's machine, the redirect dies, and every
OAuth catalog server (ClickUp, Hospitable, ...) fails in-app with no working
path — the exact topology from the 'MCP Recurring erros' support thread.
Fix mirrors the Desktop's native gateway login (native-oauth-login.ts):
- gateway: mcp.servers.oauth.start accepts client_redirect_uri (loopback-only,
RFC 8252-style validation); when supplied no gateway listener is bound and
the OAuth redirect_uri pins to the client's listener.
- gateway: new mcp.servers.oauth.callback RPC relays the client-captured
code/state into the flow; state verification stays in
DashboardOAuthFlow.deliver_callback (constant-time compare, replay-safe).
- desktop: mcp-oauth-callback-ipc.ts hosts a one-shot 127.0.0.1 listener in
the main process (hermes:mcp-oauth:listen/wait/cancel via preload bridge).
- desktop: hermes-bots mcp-setup.tsx prefers the client listener for local
AND remote backends, falling back to the legacy gateway-listener flow on
older gateways (feature-detect via start rejection).
- docs: remote-host MCP OAuth section documents the automatic Desktop path.
Validation: 19 new gateway tests (validator allowlist, listener skip, relay
accept/reject/replay) — sabotage-verified; 5 new desktop tests against a real
ephemeral listener; E2E through the real session registry + flow bridge with
a stubbed provider probe; tsc electron+renderer builds clean.
The bundled plan skill's auto-generated slash command fell off the capped
Telegram/Discord command menus for most installs (skills are the only tier
trimmed at the platform caps, alphabetically — 'plan' sat past the cutoff at
index 57 of 82 bundled skills). Converting it to a first-class CommandDef
gives it a guaranteed core-tier menu slot on every platform.
- agent/plan_prompt.py: build_plan_prompt() — plan-mode rules + authoring
craft distilled from the retired skill; prompt-injection pattern like
/learn and /init (no engine, no model-tool footprint, cache-safe).
- CLI: _handle_plan_command mixin handler (pending-input injection).
- Gateway: /plan branch rewrites event.text and falls through (role
alternation preserved).
- TUI: command.dispatch branch ('plan' was already in
_PENDING_INPUT_COMMANDS).
- Removed skills/software-development/plan/ + docs pages (EN + zh-Hans),
catalog rows, sidebar entry, related_skills references.
- PROTECTED_BUILTIN_SKILLS is now empty (mechanism kept); dependent
curator/usage tests moved to monkeypatched sentinels.
Salvages #67292 by @webtecnica (credit: first /plan command submission,
issue #67264); reworked from inline planning prompt to the prompt-injection
pattern with workspace-saved plans. Closes#67264, closes#36821 (empty
/plan infers task from conversation context).
The grant_existing_profile key was removed in PR #98057; sweep the mode
table, opt-in section, runtime-lifecycle notes, config example, and CLI
reference that still documented it.
#95620 removed computer_use's cua_browser_* actions entirely
(browser_route.py, the action enum, and their dispatch/escalation hint) —
computer_use is desktop-only now, and page content goes through the
separate browser_navigate/browser_click/... toolset (or browser_exec
under the Browser Use CLI backend).
The skill doc never caught up: it still taught the model to call
cua_browser_state/cua_browser_prepare/etc. and to escalate to a "page"
rung that _enrich_escalation can no longer recommend. Following that
guidance fails schema validation on the first call.
- SKILL.md: replace the "Typed browser page rung" section (including the
existing_profile authorization walkthrough, which described a
model-facing action parameter that no longer exists anywhere in
schema.py/tool.py) with a short pointer to the current browser toolset;
drop "page" from the escalation.recommended union and the ladder step
that referenced it.
- website/docs/user-guide/features/computer-use.md: grant_existing_profile
and the rest of the permission-mode config are still real and current
(cua_backend.py still reads them for the runtime launch grant) — only
reworded the one sentence naming cua_browser_prepare as the mechanism
that consumes the grant, since driving a signed-in browser window now
goes through the standard capture/click/type actions instead.
- Regenerated the mirrored skill doc via
website/scripts/generate-skill-docs.py rather than hand-editing it, per
its own header. Kept the diff scoped to computer-use only.
Completes the #90953 salvage on post-#98237 main:
- New _merge_request_overrides helper defines the precedence contract:
explicit delegation.request_overrides merges OVER runtime/parent-derived
overrides — explicit top-level keys win; extra_body is deep-merged one
level so runtime extra_body keys survive unless redefined. Inputs are
copy.deepcopy'd so transport-side mutation can't leak into config or the
provider runtime cache.
- Direct base_url branch: explicit key now merges over the #98237
provider-alongside-base_url runtime overrides instead of being a separate
return shape; max_output_tokens preserved.
- Named-provider branch and parent-inherit branch now honor the key too, so
delegation.request_overrides never silently no-ops.
- _build_child_agent honors override_request_overrides whenever set
(previously only when override_provider was set), enabling the inherit
branch's merged value to reach the child.
- DEFAULT_CONFIG: delegation.request_overrides entry with comment.
- Tests: expanded tests/tools/test_delegate_request_overrides.py — deep-copy
proofs, explicit-over-runtime precedence on the provider-alongside-base_url
path, named-provider branch, inherit branch, and merge-helper unit tests.
- Docs: configuration.md delegation section + features/delegation.md document
the key, precedence, and example YAML (OpenRouter extra_body.provider.sort).
