_parse_session_key() only accepted the agent:main namespace, so under
multiplex_profiles named-profile keys (agent:<profile>:...) parsed to None and
notification/shutdown routing fell back to the LRU source cache; and
_sibling_thread_run_keys() hardcoded agent:main, so a per-user thread /stop
never matched a sibling run on a named profile. Accept any valid profile-id
namespace slot and report it as profile (main keys keep their exact historical
shape), build the sibling prefix from _session_key_namespace(source.profile),
and drop the manual agent:main re-wrap in _build_process_event_source().

Breaks the two import cycles that forced Protocol stand-ins in the F821 sweep, so the two
sites now name the real types.
gateway/platforms/event.py (new leaf): MessageType, ProcessingOutcome, MessageEvent moved
out of base.py verbatim. Their only dependency is gateway.session.SessionSource; base.py
imported helpers.py at module level, so helpers could not name MessageEvent. Now
TextBatchAggregator is typed by the real MessageEvent. 249 importers repointed
(`from gateway.platforms.base import` -> `.event`, preserving each import's layout);
gateway.platforms.__init__ re-exports from .event. The three revert-scheduled PLUGIN-COMPAT
pointers that named these symbols (gateway.slash_commands → MessageType, dingtalk → MessageType,
photon → ProcessingOutcome) and their COMPAT_MANIFEST rows now target gateway.platforms.event.

tools/mcp_tool_sampling.py: ElicitationHandler no longer holds a back-reference to its
MCPServerTask (mcp_tool imports sampling, so the task type cannot be named there). It only
ever read owner._pending_call_context, so it takes `call_context: Callable[[], Context | None]`
and MCPServerTask passes `lambda: self._pending_call_context`. The consent call is one
`functools.partial`, run directly or inside the captured Context.
ty on the 11 touched production files vs origin/main: 0 new diagnostics, 14 resolved.
(The one `source: SessionSource = None` diagnostic moves with the class; typing it Optional
exposes ~60 unguarded call sites — separate follow-up.)
Tests: tests/gateway + tests/plugins + tests/tools + touched files, 18,235 passed; the 31
failures reproduce identically on origin/main (macOS /private/tmp, systemd socket,
long-path fixtures, live-service tests).
Second, deeper pass over tools/gateway/hermes_cli plus first pass over
the trees wave 1 missed (acp, acp_adapter, skills, computer_use, docker,
dashboard, conformance, monitoring, secret_sources, hermes_state,
providers). Same rubric as wave 1 (AGENTS.md test policy); security,
alternation/caching invariants, issue-number regressions, and E2E kept.
Real test-quality fixes found and rooted out along the way:
- tests/tools/test_command_guards.py made real auxiliary-LLM HTTPS calls
(DEFAULT_CONFIG smart-approval leaked in) — pinned approval
mode=manual via autouse fixture: 17.4s → 0.4s.
- test_model_switch_custom_providers.py / test_user_providers_model_switch.py
silently probed live provider catalogs (~2s/test) — stubbed
cached_provider_model_ids/provider_model_ids/fetch_api_models.
- test_telegram_noise_filter.py: 15-platform copy-paste matrix over
shared gateway.run logic → 3 representative platforms (55s → 3.9s).
- test_gateway_shutdown.py: stop()'s 5s interrupt-deadline loop spun on
MagicMock agents — interrupt.side_effect now clears _running_agents
(22s → 1.0s).
- test_gateway_inactivity_timeout.py poll-harness timings shrunk 3-5x
(24s → 1.1s); test_mcp_stability.py backoff/SIGTERM-grace sleeps
patched (15.4s → 2.5s); test_async_delegation.py negative-drain wait
5s → 0.5s.
- test_telegram_init_deadline.py: loop-block margin restored to 1.0s
with rationale comment — the watchdog-dump assertion needs the loop
blocked well past deadline+grace under parallel load (flaked once in
the 40-worker verification run at a 0.2s margin).
Verification: full hermetic suite via scripts/run_tests.sh —
2,438 files, 21,718 tests passed, 0 failed, 293.9s wall.
Suite totals vs original baseline: 46,820 → 19,757 test functions
(−57.8%), wall 583.5s → 293.9s (−50%), subprocess CPU 13,564s → 11,623s.
Salvaged from #32340 by @LeonSGP43, adapted to the workspace-scoped
status tracking that landed in #63709:
- /stop with no running agent now best-effort clears the platform
status indicator, so a phantom 'is thinking...' left by a gateway
restart or a turn that died without a final send can always be
dismissed (#32295).
- SlackAdapter.stop_typing clears an untracked thread when the caller
names it explicitly in metadata — clearing an unset status is a
harmless no-op on Slack's side. The fallback is skipped when multiple
Slack Connect workspaces track the same channel+thread and no team_id
is given, preserving #63709's cross-workspace safety guarantee.
In a per-user thread (thread_sessions_per_user=True), each participant
gets an isolated session key (...:{thread_id}:{user_id}). A run another
user started lives under a different key, so the caller's own /stop found
nothing and replied 'no active task to stop'.
When /stop finds no run under the caller's own key, fall back to
interrupting any running agent(s) sharing the caller's thread prefix
({chat_id}:{thread_id}), gated on _is_user_authorized. Thread-only — the
fallback returns [] for non-thread channels, and a prefix-collision guard
prevents thr1 from matching thr11.
