docs/ was not the documentation site; it was a grab bag of long-form
design notes, wire contracts and observability guides that landed with
feature PRs because their authors needed somewhere to put them. Root
AGENTS.md already says long-form dev docs live in
website/docs/developer-guide/; this moves the 14 living documents there
(or to the matching user-guide section) so they are published, searchable
and linked from the sidebar instead of being found by grep only.
Developer guide: micro-compaction, gateway-session-lifecycle (was
session-lifecycle), state-db-recovery, multiplexing-gateway,
chronos-managed-cron-contract, relay-connector-contract, observer-hooks
(was observability/README), gateway-monitoring (observability/monitoring),
relay-shared-metrics, middleware, streaming-tts, billing-lifecycle.
User guide: egress/network-isolation (was security/network-egress-
isolation), features/kanban-multi-gateway (was kanban/multi-gateway).
Each page got title/description frontmatter and a sidebar entry; repo-
relative links became site links or GitHub blob URLs; two MDX brace
hazards escaped. Every in-tree pointer (module docstrings, config
comments, the relay conformance test's Path, the monitoring-doc test,
gateway-internals, cron-internals, kanban docs, .dockerignore, AGENTS.md)
now names the new location. `docusaurus build` passes with no unresolved
links on the moved pages.
Port of https://github.com/achimala/dream-loop (MIT, 400+ stars in 48h).
An autonomous loop for building visually impressive 3D scenes/games:
generate photorealistic concept art, build (three.js/WebGL/Blender),
screenshot the live build, judge screenshot-vs-concept on a 5-tier score
ladder, iterate to convergence with explicit exit criteria.
Prose-only port rebound to Hermes-native tools: image_generate for
concept art, vision_analyze for judging (side-by-side composite
workaround documented), browser_exec capture_screenshot for live builds,
delegate_task for parallel asset work. Upstream ladder, failure modes,
time-budget and exit rules preserved. optional-skills/ placement.
Ports the system-atlas agent skill: one data.mjs file renders both an
interactive isometric HTML map (progressive-disclosure chapters, moving
data packets, question tracking by Q-ID) and a generated text twin
(SYSTEM.md) for the repo.
Why: architecture discussions that outgrow a single diagram — the skill
encodes hard-earned rules (max 3 structures per chapter, shapes+labels,
docs-policy ask before committing). Upstream 410 stars since Aug 20,
VoltAgent-listed; complements architecture-diagram (static SVG) with an
explorable, stateful artifact.
- optional-skills/creative/system-atlas/: SKILL.md (89 lines),
references/ (design language, process lessons), assets/ (build.mjs,
template.html, data.example.mjs) vendored verbatim; LICENSE.txt (MIT,
Harshyt Goel)
- Live smoke: node --check both .mjs OK; node build.mjs produced
atlas.html (41.5 KB) + SYSTEM.md from the example data, zero deps
- docs: own catalog row + generated page + sidebar entry only
Port of https://github.com/yanliudesign/mono-color-skill (MIT, 2.9k
stars in 3 weeks). Generates original one-ink or controlled two-ink
editorial print images (risograph/duotone/monochrome poster aesthetic)
driven by machine-readable design-system catalogs: substrate/ink
palettes, composition geometry, typography roles, rhythm, controlled
imperfections — all vendored verbatim as the source of truth.
Upstream 34 KB SKILL.md restructured into a hub (143-line core + three
references). Image generation rebound to image_generate; hardcoded
'~/Desktop/Claude skills' path replaced with a neutral output dir.
Upstream examples/ are all-rights-reserved (ASSET-LICENSE.md) and are
NOT vendored — MIT text + catalogs only, with a NOTICE. optional-skills/
placement.
Ports the pr-lens agent skill: represent a diff or subsystem as one
graph.json document and render it as animated SVG diagrams via the MIT
npx CLI (@coldtea/pr-lens-cli), with optional opt-in publishing to a
shareable canvas link.
Why: PR review and architecture explanation keep producing hand-drawn
Mermaid; this gives validated, animated, drill-down diagrams with a
deterministic document format. Upstream created Aug 20, 1.1k stars in
3 weeks, GitHub App + Action + CLI + skill.
- optional-skills/software-development/pr-lens/: SKILL.md (145 lines),
references/ (config, graph document format, valid example) vendored
near-verbatim, LICENSE.txt (MIT, Coldtea AI)
- gh --attach caveat handled: installed gh 2.97 lacks the flag; skill
documents honest fallbacks (gist, canvas link, local path)
- Live smoke: validate + render of the vendored example graph passed
(4 SVGs + manifest produced)
- docs: own catalog row + generated page + sidebar entry only
The twozero TouchDesigner integration now lives in one installable unit:
plugin-catalog/touchdesigner.yaml points at NousResearch/hermes-plugin-touchdesigner
(portable Agent Plugins v1: mcp.json registers the twozero Streamable HTTP hub, skills/
carries touchdesigner-mcp). `hermes plugins install touchdesigner` + `hermes plugins
enable td` replaces the optional skill whose setup.sh hand-wrote an mcp_servers block.
The manifest name is `td` because Hermes names portable MCP tools
mcp__agent_plugin_<name>_<hash>__<server>__<tool>; twozero's longest tool under a
`touchdesigner` namespace is 71 chars, past the 64-char provider function-name cap.
optional-skills/creative/touchdesigner-mcp and its generated docs (bundled, optional,
zh-Hans) are removed; catalog tables, sidebar and kanban-video-orchestrator references
are updated to point at the plugin. Supersedes #68607 (MCP-catalog-only approach).
Install with hermes skills install official/autonomous-ai-agents/dynamic-workflow.
Orchestration-campaign guidance is niche enough not to sit in every default prompt index.
Main moved under take-1: top-level delegate_task is background-forced (results
re-enter as messages; synthesizing on the same turn reads files that do not
exist yet), per-task `toolsets` is gone (children inherit the parent's set),
DELEGATE_BLOCKED_TOOLS is {delegate_task, clarify, memory, send_message,
cronjob_manage} (execute_code is NOT stripped), and the 457-char description
was truncated by the 60-char routing budget. All four bbopen review items fixed.
Adds the campaign shape learned running the 1,863-session / 19-hour
whole-codebase simplification fan-out (#102117): shared brief + exclusive
file ownership, commit-per-step as the only handoff, fleet ceiling before the
OAuth refresh stampede, per-round integration with a frozen base and a full
suite on the combined tree, `rev-list --count` per branch before declaring a
round done (168 late-slice commits were once left behind), one serialized
test runner, forward-port last, live QA as its own wave, refuting the parent's
own heuristics with the same attempt/refuter mechanic, HANDOFF.md on restart.
Frontmatter now meets the hardline standard (platforms, ≤60-char description,
modern section order); `/tmp` replaced by the terminal temp dir so the skill is
correct on Termux and Windows. Catalog + sidebar + generated page added.
Reverts the in-tree org skill-marketplace: hermes_wisdom package, three
model tools, CLI/gateway/desktop/dashboard/Telegram/Slack surfaces.
Later non-Wisdom work on shared files (guest onboarding i18n, dashboard
startup schema, Slack adapter, tui_gateway) is kept; Wisdom-only call
sites and config were stripped from those files.

* wisdom: add agent-led sharing core (policy, evidence, schemas, templates, delivery, weekly job, share/install flows)
- hermes_wisdom/agent_led/: policy resolution (server > local > defaults),
7-day evidence builder that excludes bundled/hub/managed skills and
dismissed/handled/recently-suggested content hashes, strict pydantic
schemas for agent output with repair-or-reject, fixed copy templates
(Share / Teammate / Published / Update / Mute), idempotent retried

resumable Share and Install flows.
- prompts/: candidate review, recipient recommendation, share packaging.

* wisdom: agent-led renderers and button action dispatcher
- render.py: Telegram HTML, Slack blocks, Desktop payload; editorial name
is the emphasized line, product label stays separate.

ledger; Not now -> dismissal, Mute -> fixed options, Share -> resumable
packaging flow, Install/Update -> plan command. Never publishes/installs.
* wisdom: CLI verbs, agent_led config default, conversational catalog skill
- hermes wisdom browse/review-week/act/share/dismiss/mute (all --json).

* feat(wisdom): expose safe receipt and outcome sync recovery
* wisdom: onboarding notice says detect and share, names the user's own skill
Copy review from the product owner on the first and returning
qualification notices (fixed delivery mode):
- the feature blurb now says the org enabled detection *and sharing*
- both notices say the detected skill is one the user created
- both close with an exclamation mark
Applied identically to hermes_wisdom.notice, the desktop and web i18n
strings, and the tests that assert the sentences.
* wisdom: one opener, no approval line, ask to share after the skill is shown
Product owner review of the candidate card.
- The Hermes written card now opens with the same sentence as the fixed card
("Your organisation has enabled Collective Wisdom, a feature designed to
automatically detect and share useful skills across all team members.")
instead of its own blurb, so there is one first time message.
- "Nothing is shared without your approval." removed from Telegram, Slack
and Desktop. The buttons already make the permission explicit.
- "Would you like to share?" no longer appears before the skill is named.
It is now the last line, after the skill name, description, why suggested
and the checks, and reads "Would you like to share it?" (matching the
agent led template wording).
Tests updated for the new order; proposalNotice removed from all desktop locales.
* wisdom: American spelling, organization
Product owner decision: user facing copy uses American spelling.
Changes "Your organisation" to "Your organization" in the chat notice,
the Hermes written card opener, the desktop and web strings, and the
tests that assert them. Identifiers such as nas_organisation:* and the
German and French locales are untouched.
* wisdom: candidate card copy round 4 (owner review)
Apply the product owner's round 4 copy decisions to the Hermes Collective
Wisdom candidate card on Telegram, Slack, Desktop and the shared views:
1. Hermes-written cards are titled "Hermes Collective Wisdom" instead of
the bare "Collective Wisdom".
2. The "Reusable skill ready to review" line is gone from the candidate
card (Telegram rich card and plain fallback, legacy agent-led share
template).
3. The skill name and description are labelled: "Skill name: <name>" and
"What it does: <description>" (Telegram, Slack, Desktop).
4. "Why suggested:" is now "Why others might benefit:".
5. A passing professionalism review reads "Safe to share at work ✓ (no
inappropriate content found)" with no per-check bullets and no "Pass";
a failed review reads "Needs a look before sharing at work (possible
inappropriate content)" and lists only the checks that flagged
something. Pending/unavailable wording is unchanged.
6. Telegram button toasts: "Will ask later...", "Preparing more
details...", "Sharing...".
7. Qualification reasons: "You used this skill consistently across many
days." and "You've really refined this skill."
8. prompts/wisdom_candidate_review.md asks for a compelling
editorial_name, a simple one_line_description and a compelling
why_coworkers_benefit under 300 characters; "Be concise and
convincing." becomes "Be concise and compelling: the goal is that the
user wants to share it."
Tests updated for the new strings; review_text() gains direct coverage.
* wisdom: re-apply owner copy after rebase
- Native share cards (advice_view/interaction_view): drop the approval line, ask "Would you like to share it?" as the last line after the checks
- Hermes-written completion card titled "Hermes Collective Wisdom"
- Qualification reasons use the owner wording (consistently across many days / really refined)
- American spelling (organization) in remaining English copy
- Desktop test asserts the current Share button; web test matches the returning notice
* fix(wisdom): pin reconciled Gateway and verify Unicode hash vectors
Pin Gateway 60cd2d6b613ae3cd4a6e65155d1142006d907e78 and byte-identical producer artifacts. Verify every content-order case and package-manifest binding. Validation: 186 focused Python tests, Ruff and contract verifier.

* feat(auth): Nous free tier core: anonymous identity minted on first use, welcome inference, shared-store scoping
A fresh install with no provider sets up a free Nous identity (anonymous auth method of the nous
provider) instead of forcing the setup wizard. The identity is persisted through the same path a
real login uses, so the resolver ladder is unchanged. Two seams differ: token acquisition
re-exchanges the anon credential (no refresh token), and routing pins the welcome host's single
model nous/welcome. One identity per shared store; nous.guest: false turns the free tier off.
* test(auth): free tier core contracts: lifecycle, resolver precedence, exchange seam, model pin
* docs(user-guide): free tier and signing in
New page explaining what a fresh install gets before any key or sign-in
(free inference on nous/welcome plus connectors), how the free tier
coexists with a user's own API key, how to sign in with hermes auth
upgrade and keep connectors, how to turn the free tier off with
nous.guest, what hermes logout does in each state, a troubleshooting
table, and a plain privacy note. Wired into the Using Hermes sidebar.
* fix(auth): logout leaves the free tier alone and clears the shared store for a real Nous account
Logging out of the free tier is a no-op: it is not a login, so nothing is cleared and the user
is told they were never signed in. Logging out of a real Nous account now also clears the
cross-profile store, so a profile logout is not silently re-adopted on the next boot.
* fix(model): switching off the free tier points at signing in, never hops providers
* Name the free tier in the gateway startup notice and tell explicit-provider installs about it once
* Render the Nous free tier as free tier on auth status, auth list, hermes status and portal info, short-circuit billing copy for it, and skip the keepalive when there is no refresh token
* fix(auth): free tier is set up where nothing is configured: resolver last rung and first-run check
Both the provider resolver's terminal rung and the CLI first-run check now try to set up the free
tier before declaring nothing configured. On a fresh install the first command lands in chat on
nous/welcome; a failed setup still falls through to the existing guidance.
* Add hermes auth upgrade: sign the free tier into a Nous account while keeping its connectors
The device-code flow runs as usual, with a promotion intent registered on the portal between the
code request and the token poll so the account that approves the code inherits the free tier's
connectors. The promotion status decides the outcome: only a completed one is followed by the
token grant, which is persisted over the free-tier singleton and the shared store. Declined,
superseded, retired and busy outcomes each print their own plain copy, and a retired identity is
cleared so the next use sets up a fresh one. User-facing text never names the free tier's internals.
* Show the Nous free tier as one picker row with nous/welcome and hide it when nous.guest is off
* fix(auth): upgrade opens the consent page for this sign-in; one mint attempt per process; forced free tier wins the first-run check
The browser leg of hermes auth upgrade now prints and opens the promotion claim URL with the
claim code, not the generic device page. A failed mint is attempted once per process so several
bootstrap sites cannot hit a closed gate or a 429 twice; a retired credential resets that so
re-minting still happens. HERMES_FORCE_GUEST is honoured ahead of the first-run provider check.
* fix(auth): pin the welcome model on the selected route, not on profile state; background setup retries after a failure
A credential-pool entry can select a paid Nous key while the profile singleton is still the free
tier. The model pin now keys on the resolved endpoint (welcome host) in agent init and /model, and
the pin in model normalization is removed since it had no route to look at. A failed background
identity setup releases its latch so a later attempt in the same process can try again.
* fix(auth): decide the Nous model together with the route on every credential-pool swap
The credential pool can move a Nous agent between the welcome host and the portal host after
init. One helper, pin_model_for_route, now runs at init and inside every pool swap, so the
welcome host always carries nous/welcome and a paid endpoint always keeps the caller's model.
* fix(auth): apply the route model policy on every wire mode during a pool swap; release the setup latch if the thread cannot start
* fix(auth): free-tier lifecycle takes profile then shared lock, reconciles with the shared store, persists the mint before exchanging, and clears only the identity that died
The shared store is the identity of record for a Hermes root: a profile holding a stale free-tier
identity adopts a sibling's newer sign-in instead of keeping the guest, and never overwrites the
shared account. Locks are taken in the documented order (profile, then shared). A minted credential
is stored as soon as create succeeds, so a rate-limited or timed-out exchange does not lose it and
trigger a second mint. Retiring a dead credential removes only that credential from both stores.
Guest exchange uses the resolver's canonical portal URL.
* fix(auth): a credential rotation never rewrites the conversation model; connectors honour the off switch and replace a retired free-tier credential
The welcome host serves one model, so a rotation onto it is refused for any conversation on another
model instead of silently switching that conversation to nous/welcome (the model pin applies only
when a route is first chosen). The connector token path now treats the free tier as absent when
nous.guest is false, including cached tokens, and shares the one dead-credential rule with
inference: a retired identity is replaced once rather than returning its stale token.
* fix(auth): plain login never imports the free tier as OAuth credentials; the gateway startup line reads persisted state only
A free-tier identity in the shared store is not an OAuth credential to offer for import; a real
sign-in replaces it. The gateway's startup notice now answers provider precedence from persisted
state (no token refresh at boot), so an expired free-tier token cannot stall the online message.
Consolidated re-apply of #96988 onto current main. Ported from
Merit-Systems/OpenInstinct (MIT) opaque-handle autofill design: the model
sees vault handles + login metadata, the password is resolved and filled
server-side over the supervised CDP socket, and filled values are scrubbed
from every browser tool result by an unconditional redaction registry.
Rebase adaptations to the Sep-2026 facade/sibling layout:
- toolsets: one _HERMES_CORE_TOOLS entry (the browser toolset derives from it)
- hermes_cli/main.py: vault parser registered via the subcommand owner table
- file_safety: vault/ joins the _READ_DENIED_DIRS credential-dir table
- redact: registry scrub runs before the redact_secrets early-return
- browser_vault_tool: _run_browser_command now lives in browser_tool_session
tt-a1i/archify (MIT, 57k stars) turns a typed JSON spec into validated,
self-contained interactive HTML diagrams (architecture / workflow /
sequence / dataflow / lifecycle) with a 9-check validate/deliver receipt,
Mermaid import and PNG/SVG/WebM export. The upstream repo already ships a
complete skill directory (archify/), so this follows the impeccable
pattern: a catalog stub whose metadata.hermes.upstream pointer makes
`hermes skills install official/creative/archify` pull the live tree
through OptionalSkillSource._fetch_from_upstream. Nothing executable is
vendored and the copy can never go stale.
Docs: generated page, one catalog row, one sidebar line.
Credit: tt-a1i (upstream author). Supersedes the vendored-references
port in #106442.
Python plugin CLI/loader/web/tui files taken from main wholesale; the
catalog layer is re-ported onto main's decomposed shapes in the
following commits. plugin_index.py removed (catalog is the sole
discovery system).
Two zero-install research skills plus routing guidance, ported as ideas
(not code) from the Agent Reach skill's per-platform backend routing.
reddit-reading (skills/social-media): subreddit listings, site/subreddit
search, threads with comments, user pages. Live-verified from a datacentre
IP: www .json, api.reddit.com, old.reddit, r.jina.ai and the browser tool
all return 403 / an empty shell / a humanity check; the Atom .rss endpoints
are the only anonymous path and are throttled to ~1 request/min/IP. The
script waits out the x-ratelimit-reset window once and retries, and
switches to the OAuth API (scores, nested comments, ~100 req/min) when
REDDIT_CLIENT_ID/SECRET are present. `doctor` reports the active backend.
rss-feeds (skills/research): RSS 2.0 / RSS 1.0 / Atom / JSON Feed parsing
with UTC-normalised dates, --since/--limit, and feed discovery behind a
page URL (<link rel=alternate>, then well-known paths). Stdlib only; the
optional blogwatcher skill remains the stateful many-feed reader and now
points at this one for one-off reads.
grounded-citations gains a "Multi-Platform Sweeps" section routing
"what are people saying about X" tasks across web, Reddit, feeds, video,
code and X with per-platform attribution and coverage-gap reporting;
competitor-news-monitor references the new sources.
Tests: two invariant tests per skill (format normalisation + discovery;
anonymous 429 handling + OAuth routing/flattening), no network. The
reddit test caught a real bug: the feed footer's "/u/author" leaked into
post bodies.
* refactor(skills): shipped-set slim — 15 skills to optional, github six-way merge, pdf absorbs OCR+nano-pdf, channel-gated teams pipeline
Maintainer-directed shipped-skills curation (skills index 1,900 -> ~1,400
tok/call on desktop; every session pays the index, so this is a per-call
diet on all installs):
- optional-skills moves (installable via skills hub, history preserved):
creative comfyui/ascii-art/excalidraw/pretext/sketch/touchdesigner-mcp;
ALL of mlops (huggingface-hub, llama-cpp, serving-llms-vllm,
weights-and-biases, evaluating-llms-harness — subcategory structure
kept); research-paper-writing (55 supporting files, 17.3K-tok load);
openhue; blogwatcher (first taught the cronjob monitor-field watch
pattern + web_extract instead of pre-cron manual workflows)
- DELETED session-librarian (Aug-12 'inspired by Perplexity Computer'
port, never maintainer-intended; session_search covers discovery)
- github: six skills (auth, issues, pr-workflow, issue-to-pr,
code-review, repo-management) merged into ONE software-development/
github skill — routing body + complete per-workflow references;
benbarclay authorship credited; codebase-inspection rides along;
discipline pins from test_github_issue_to_pr_skill.py preserved
against the reference body in the new test_github_skill.py
- pdf absorbs ocr-and-documents + nano-pdf as references/ + scripts
(extract_pymupdf, extract_marker converted to the argparse house
standard its contract test enforces)
- NEW session_platforms frontmatter gate (metadata.hermes): hides a
skill from the index on gateway channels it is not for; fail-open on
unknown platform; teams-meeting-pipeline gated to [teams, cron]
- blocked-page-recovery: research -> new web category; trigger-first
description ('Use when a fetch fails: 403/429, paywall, WAF, bot
wall.') so the model actually reaches for it on blocked fetches
- docs regenerated via generate-skill-docs.py (195 pages); related_skills
swept repo-wide; tests: 1672 passed (2 openclaw failures pre-existing
on clean main, Windows-local)
* chore: ignore .skills_prompt_snapshot.json (local index cache, accidentally committed)
hermes skills install impeccable (and the docs-page install button) now
installs the impeccable frontend-design skill as an official optional-skills
entry. The local optional-skills/creative/impeccable/ dir is a catalog STUB:
its frontmatter declares metadata.hermes.upstream (repo + path), and
OptionalSkillSource.fetch() pulls the real 163-file bundle live from
pbakaus/impeccable:.hermes/skills/impeccable — the Hermes-native bundle
upstream maintains and verifies. Nothing vendored, never stale.
New mechanism (generic, not impeccable-specific):
- OptionalSkillSource._upstream_pointer(): parses/validates the upstream
pointer (owner/name repo, clean relative path, traversal rejected).
- _fetch_from_upstream(): delegates to GitHubSource.fetch(), relabels the
bundle official/<rel> at trust 'trusted' (curated endorsement, but
third-party content — dangerous scan verdicts still block).
- The live-repo fallback path redirects stubs the same way, so stale local
checkouts behave identically.
Three real gaps this surfaced, all fixed:
- GitHubSource.fetch() only downloaded SKILL.md plus paths linked from a
canonical support dir (references/, scripts/, ...). Impeccable keeps its
playbooks under reference/ (singular) and links scripts only from
reference files, so fetch shipped 1 of 163 files. fetch() now downloads
the full skill directory via the git tree (same approach as the
optional-skills live fetch), still rejecting symlinks/hidden/unsafe paths
and still failing on a missing SKILL.md-linked references/ path.
- The five env_exfil_* scanner patterns flagged loopback requests as
critical exfiltration: impeccable's live mode polls
http://localhost:PORT/status?token=TOKEN and scored two CRITICALs.
Scheme-anchored loopback exemption added; evil.com/?u=localhost decoys
still fire (10-case regex matrix in tests).
- unified_search() truncated to limit before ranking, so official catalog
entries got crowded out by skills.sh mirrors and bare-name installs
stalled on an ambiguity table. Results now stable-sort by trust rank
before the cut, and _resolve_short_name prefers a sole official exact
match over community mirrors.
Also fixes pre-existing test pollution: TestInstallPathSafety's fixture
monkeypatched the PEP 562 dynamic SKILLS_DIR, permanently shadowing dynamic
resolution and breaking the served_repo E2E tests in any combined run
(reproducible on main).
Validation: live E2E do_install("impeccable") against real GitHub —
resolves to official/creative/impeccable, verdict SAFE, 163 files on disk,
skill loads, /impeccable slash command registers. 128/128 targeted tests;
full-dir fetch test sabotage-verified. Docs: optional-skills catalog row,
generated skill page, sidebar.
The bundled plan skill's auto-generated slash command fell off the capped
Telegram/Discord command menus for most installs (skills are the only tier
trimmed at the platform caps, alphabetically — 'plan' sat past the cutoff at
index 57 of 82 bundled skills). Converting it to a first-class CommandDef
gives it a guaranteed core-tier menu slot on every platform.
- agent/plan_prompt.py: build_plan_prompt() — plan-mode rules + authoring
craft distilled from the retired skill; prompt-injection pattern like
/learn and /init (no engine, no model-tool footprint, cache-safe).
- CLI: _handle_plan_command mixin handler (pending-input injection).
- Gateway: /plan branch rewrites event.text and falls through (role
alternation preserved).
- TUI: command.dispatch branch ('plan' was already in
_PENDING_INPUT_COMMANDS).
- Removed skills/software-development/plan/ + docs pages (EN + zh-Hans),
catalog rows, sidebar entry, related_skills references.
- PROTECTED_BUILTIN_SKILLS is now empty (mechanism kept); dependent
curator/usage tests moved to monkeypatched sentinels.
Salvages #67292 by @webtecnica (credit: first /plan command submission,
issue #67264); reworked from inline planning prompt to the prompt-injection
pattern with workspace-saved plans. Closes#67264, closes#36821 (empty
/plan infers task from conversation context).
Reverts the plan-interrogation rename from #97831 per maintainer decision —
the skill keeps its original grill-me name. The content upgrade (design-tree
frontier-rounds interview mechanic from mattpocock/skills' grilling) stays.
Docs page, catalog row, and sidebar entry renamed back.
Ports the MIT-licensed 'to-questionnaire' skill from mattpocock/skills as
decision-questionnaire (optional-skills/productivity). Interviews the user
about the send only (recipient + needed outcomes), then drafts a
most-important-first discovery questionnaire with answer stubs to
decision-questionnaire-<slug>.md. Includes staging tests for frontmatter
standards, template sections, and de-upstreaming.
Ports the MIT-licensed 'wizard' skill from mattpocock/skills as
setup-wizard-generator (optional-skills/devops). Generates an interactive
bash wizard that walks a human through manual procedures: opens dashboard
URLs, captures values (hidden entry for secrets), writes .env / GitHub
secrets idempotently, and confirms each stage. Vendors upstream's
template.sh library verbatim (bash -n verified) plus a staging test suite
covering frontmatter, template integrity, and de-upstreaming.
Renames the optional grill-me skill to the more descriptive plan-interrogation
and upgrades it with the design-tree frontier-rounds mechanic from
mattpocock/skills' MIT-licensed 'grilling' skill: batch all currently-askable
questions per round in dependency order, agent finds facts itself, decisions
stay with the user. Docs page, catalog row, and sidebar entry renamed.
Per the 'when in doubt, optional' rule — plan-interview is an
on-request capability, not a weekly daily-driver for most users.

Bot Mode ships built into the desktop app (default on) but only had a
short section in desktop.md. This adds a dedicated user-guide page
covering the Bots roster, creating and editing Bots, avatars, routines,
group chats, bot-to-bot messaging (agent.bot_mode_protocol), the
multi-connection roster, and CLI parity.
Ports Claude Code's /loop (and its /proactive alias) across every Hermes
surface. /loop [interval] <prompt> re-runs a prompt or slash command on a
recurring cadence inside the live session; omitting the interval enables
self-paced mode (starts at the floor, backs off exponentially while the
agent's replies stop changing, snaps back on change — local digest
comparison, zero extra LLM cost).
Stop conditions: agent-emitted LOOP_COMPLETE marker, --times N,
--until <condition> (judged by the existing goal_judge aux task,
fail-open), /loop stop, and a loops.max_ticks backstop budget.
Core: hermes_cli/loops.py (LoopState + LoopManager + shared
dispatch_loop_command), persisted per session in SessionDB state_meta
(loop:<sid>) so /resume picks it up; migrates across compression
boundaries like /goal. New SessionDB.list_meta_prefix() powers the
gateway's cross-session scan.
Surfaces:
- CLI: /loop handler + idle-fire and post-turn-complete hooks in
process_loop (mirrors the /goal hook shape; Ctrl+C pauses the loop)
- Gateway: /loop handler with route capture, mid-run control-verb guard,
post-turn tick completion, and a supervised loop_wakeup_watcher that
injects due wakeups into idle chats via the synthetic-message path
- TUI/dashboard/desktop: command.dispatch handler + per-session
notification-poller wakeup driver + post-turn completion in the turn
dispatcher; /loop added to the desktop slash palette
- /goal mixing: an active non-parked goal owns the idle boundary — loop
ticks defer until it finishes, pauses, or parks; real user input always
wins over both
Config: loops.{min_interval_seconds,max_ticks,self_paced_floor_seconds,
self_paced_ceiling_seconds}. Docs page + sidebar entry. 77 new tests.
Slack's 50-slash cap: /version moves to /hermes version to free the
native slot for /loop.
Adds a bundled productivity skill that lets Hermes organize the user's own
session library conversationally: find sessions by topic via session_search,
summarize goals/decisions from bookends, rename them meaningfully, propose
archives/prunes with a mandatory plan-first + dry-run discipline, and split
requests into parallel workstreams via delegate_task.
Inspired by Perplexity Computer's session management by prompt (changelog
07/27/26): find/summarize past sessions, fork focused follow-ups, rename,
pin/archive with plan-first confirmation, and fan one request out into
parallel per-task sessions.
omo's ultimate-browsing engine added a 'surrogate retrieval tier' (PR #6662):
when a page fetch is blocked by a WAF/paywall/rate-limit, it falls back to
third-party copies (Wayback, archive.today, Jina Reader) with strict
provenance labeling and validators that reject fake successes (dead Google
Cache interstitials, AMP redirect stubs, rate-limit bodies).
Hermes adaptation: a bundled research skill + stdlib-only script instead of
a Python sub-engine — zero core-tool footprint, per the footprint ladder.
Clean-room implementation (their repo is Sustainable Use License; nothing
copied), keeping the good ideas: provenance contract (snapshot vs live),
body validation over status codes, domain rotation for archive.today,
API-first pivot guidance, and explicit skip of proxy relays (MITM).
E2E tested: recovered a real 486KB Wayback snapshot with timestamp;
validators reject redirect stubs, interstitial titles, and sub-floor bodies.
The upstream ahujasid/blender-mcp and ahujasid/ableton-mcp GitHub repos
were hijacked on 2026-08-08: the maintainer (@sidahuj) publicly reported
his account was compromised and ownership stripped, and both repos now
redirect to an attacker-controlled org (MCPBlender, created the same
day, pushing new commits since).
Although our catalog pinned blender-mcp==1.6.4 from PyPI (pre-compromise,
sha256 verified unchanged), the server is only half the bridge: the
manifest's post-install instructions and the optional skill directed
users to download addon.py — arbitrary Python executed inside Blender —
from the now-compromised GitHub repo (the raw URL currently 404s, and
the addon ships in no PyPI artifact). There is no trustworthy source
for the addon half, so the entry cannot be installed safely end-to-end.
Removing the catalog entry and skill entirely until the maintainer
confirms account recovery; re-adding is a follow-up PR once upstream
is verified clean.
- optional-mcps/blender/: removed
- optional-skills/creative/blender-mcp/: removed
- docs: catalog rows, sidebar entry, skill pages (en + zh-Hans) removed
- cross-references in unreal-mcp and kanban-video-orchestrator cleaned
New tests/skills/test_authoring_standards.py parametrizes every bundled +
optional SKILL.md (1148 checks) against the mechanically-verifiable subset
of the hardline standards:
- required frontmatter fields (name/description/version/author/license/
platforms) + tags
- frontmatter name == directory name
- description <= 60 chars, ends with period, no marketing words
- related_skills resolve in-repo
- no machine-local paths
- <= 100k chars
Grandfather dict for legacy debt ships EMPTY — all pre-existing violations
fixed in this PR:
- 13 frontmatter names canonicalized to their directory names (the install
identifier); all related_skills references updated (comfyui -> stable-
diffusion). Fixes the class behind PR #42788's report; also fixes
here.now's invalid dot-name.
- optional-skills/devops/cli -> inference-sh-cli (dir was the generic
'cli'; fm name was right) incl. docs pages (en + zh-Hans), catalog row,
sidebar entry.
- pytorch-fsdp: 157k generated 'Quick Reference' dump moved to
references/common-patterns.md; SKILL.md 159k -> 2.5k with a pointer.
- research-paper-writing: 31.7k Phase 5 drafting section moved to
references/phase5-paper-drafting.md; SKILL.md 103k -> 71k.
Docs regenerated with scope discipline.
- description 210 -> 57 chars; author credits Ben Barclay (benbarclay) first
- optional-skills/creative/ (marketing vertical, narrowest audience of
the batch)
- dropped phantom 'image-generation-workflow' ref; visuals via the
image_generate tool
- honest handoff language: platforms without connectors end at approved
drafts marked handed-off, never claimed as published
- tests (10) incl. phantom-ref and honest-handoff guards
- docs regen scoped: per-skill page + one catalog row + one sidebar line
Skill polish:
- description 208 -> 57 chars; author credits Ben Barclay (benbarclay) first
- connector framing (google-workspace, obsidian, notion, email-inbox-triage)
- modern section order; boilerplate folded into step-local rules
Blueprint wiring (completes the batch's recipe integration):
- weekly-review blueprint loads weekly-review-planning; prompt follows the
skill's seven-section shape, drafts-only
- morning-brief blueprint loads google-workspace; prompt points at
references/daily-brief.md when connected
- important-mail blueprint loads email-inbox-triage
- blueprints index regenerated
Tests: 13 skill tests + two catalog invariants (every blueprint skills=
entry resolves to a real bundled skill; the four task blueprints are wired
to their procedure skills). 32 green across both files.
